The State Soil Conservation Committee developed tools or guidelines to help with the implementation of the Soil Erosion and Sediment Act. The Standards for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control present comprehensive techniques and devices to help prevent soil erosion and off-site sedimentation. The current standards are dated for July 1999. The first section of the standards includes guidelines on temporary and permanent vegetative measures to control soil erosion. Engineering standards provide guidance on permanent measures such as detention basins, grassed waterways, riprap structures, as well temporary measures such as inlet protection, sediment barriers, and sediment basins.

Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of the Standards for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control should contact the District Office. The price is $35.00 if picked up in the office, or $43.00 if mailed. All orders to be mailed must be prepaid.
