
NJDEP Construction Stormwater (5G3) Permit Phase II
In addition to
their activities regulated under the
Chapter 251 Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Program,
the
15 Soil Conservation Districts
also work with the NJDEP Stormwater Phase II program in conjunction with NJDEP
Bureau of Nonpoint Pollution Control..
The Stormwater Discharger Permit Program requires construction activities
including clearing, grading and excavating that disturb one (1) acre or more
obtain authorization of a construction general permit (5G3). This permit must be
acquired in addition to a Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan certification
issued by the local Soil Conservation District.
Mining and Quarrying activities must obtain general permits directly through
NJDEP.

Effective October 1, 2009 Stormwater Construction Permit (5G3-NJ0088323) became an E-Permitting System.
The Stormwater Discharge Permit Program requires the permit to be updated when there is a change of ownership or operating entity of a project. If the permit was originally processed through the District prior to October 1, 2009, the permit may be updated by filing an updated application with the District. Click here for the appropriate form to utilize to update the construction permit. Do not use the RFA form on the NJDEP E-permit site to update an existing 5G3 permit.
